MahrGPT

Privacy Policy

At MahrGPT, we believe transparency starts with us. We are committed to protecting your privacy by design. We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) linked to your Mahr submission.

1. Information We Collect

We purely collect the data necessary to calculate accurate Mahr benchmarks ("Mahr Mithl"). This includes:

  • Financial Data: Mahr amounts (Muqaddam, Muakhar), asset breakdown (gold, cash, etc.).
  • Demographic Data: Age, education level, income band, location (country, state, city).
  • Contextual Data: Marriage year, marriage type (first vs. remarriage).

We DOES NOT collect: Names, Email Addresses, Phone Numbers, IP Addresses (logged only for security/rate-limiting, not stored with data), or exact street addresses.

2. How We Use Your Data

The sole purpose of this data is to aggregate it into anonymous statistics. Your submission helps us:

  • Calculate average and median Mahr values relative to specific demographics.
  • Identify trends in Mahr over time (e.g., impact of inflation or cultural shifts).
  • Provide a "Mahr Calculator" tool to help others find fair, data-backed reference points.

3. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Our database is secured with strict access controls. Since we do not store PII, even in the unlikely event of a data breach, your personal identity cannot be linked to the financial data you submitted.

4. Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your data to third parties. We are an Open Data initiative focused on community benefit. Aggregated, non-identifiable insights may be shared publicly (e.g., "Average Mahr in USA in 2024"), but individual raw records are kept secure.
