Privacy

Mahr.fyi is built around a single principle: collect the smallest amount of information needed to make the data useful, and never anything that identifies you.

What we store

Only the values you submit on the form: location, marriage year, mahr amounts, demographic bands, and an optional story. There are no accounts, no email addresses, no IP logs, and no tracking pixels.

What we don't store

• No raw IP addresses. If we hash one for rate limiting, the hash is salted.
• No third-party analytics. No cookies that follow you across sites.
• No personal identifiers tied to your submission.

Moderation

A small fraction of submissions are flagged for human review, typically very large amounts or near-duplicates within 24 hours. These are reviewed manually and either approved into the public feed or rejected. Rejected submissions are not deleted but never shown publicly.
